light weight

light weight

A Poem by Nobody.

the weight lies, mammoth, on squeaky rods and cones,

740 nanometers on this radiation wavelength,

translating the millions and millions of chirps,

the language of light,

shimmers from the dexterous tongue of an operatic god.

staccato flares roll through a stratiform deck,

single note spliced into a 7 part harmony,

claret, carrot, lemon, lettuce, hypothermia,

amethyst, and choking victim.

rainbow to rain noose; blaze reborn as aurora.

eternal aura keyholed through porous skin,

a human planet spins, kaleidoscopic,

in the mysterious hollow between this dance

and the next.

fiery passion from an unseen creator;

reminders that this dusty place

is more truckstop than final destination.

the weight floats, featherlike, on fluttery lashes,

lids crash like bay doors, internal night falls.

the dreamer, an odd fish, swims from archaic hums

to electrical drums;

an acrobatic, freeform method of phototropism.

my psyche tongue-kisses my faraway home.

eventually, I’ll just bleed into the sky;

drop this old jalopy off at the beach

and dive into a sea of color and fire.

Existence of matter, tangible and intangible, and the study of everything in between can drive a person mad. Love the fiery passion stanza. A great thought-provoking piece.

The strangeness of light activating neurons, titillating and tormenting us. I never stop thinking about how when I am gone, so will be all that circuitry, and how little difference it makes to the fires of creation. There's great power in your words.

How does one go about describing all the things that light the cosmos and the mind?

I think this just about covers it.
