Epistemology Class

A Poem by Nobody.

Epistemology Class

“how do you know we’re not all just heads in a vat?”

asked the white-bearded professor.

I crinkled my brow,

narrowed my eyes

and replied,

“my balls,

mostly.”

I passed the verbal test

with a high C.

he never asked me anything else

the entire semester.

I still don't believe that I know

anything,

except that I believe

too many things.

this isn't some slur toward pickles is it? I happen to like garlic dill's immensely.

Including the words "my balls" and "high C" taken out of context reminds me of castrato ... the high male singing voice derived from castration... but I digress.

The old boy might have had something but was just ahead of his time....

ah, but there isn't enough time in eternity to believe in too many things.....
good stuff.

Hilarious. I think we acquire most of our knowledge from testosterone-induced delusion, the rest through ruminating depression. The line "I believe too many things", so accurate.
