Winter Aspirations

Winter Aspirations

A Poem by Nobody.

fell

through

your

ice,

and

caught

fire.

now, I’m waiting for a soul

kind enough to stomp me out,

and

bury

my

remains

in

the

soil

of

a

more

fertile

heart.

next time I rise,

I hope to have razor thorns

like

yours.

ah, an immediate image of a place called Gallaway's on the west side, didn't start happening until midnight, meaning most of the bartenders didn't even show up until then. Within less than two hours all the after hour weekend warriors showed up and then the after work bartender's and waitresses. There were two of these places, stayed open until 4 am.... what you wrote, happened every friday and saturday and started up again the next weekend.
Hit me square between the eyes, good times, bad times.... at least I think it all happened.
You got plenty of leather left on that strop.

Wow, loved the "in your face" ending!!! You went from melancholy to anger in a matter of seconds. Great write!
