Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

A Poem by Nobody.

Borrowed Bukowski lips to sip giggle water,

As the glassy 4square broadcasts

Shame, pain, confusion, loss.

Someone’s in the kitchen with dandruff.

Extra sugar on the crepes tonight,

Right Hazel?

Scratch and sniff if leery.

Leary opened the doorway,

Carroll came back through as a rabbit,

Fudd shot him dead,

And Momma Cass sang at his funeral.

Now, we’re eating eggrolls and fried chicken

To commemorate their achievements.

Colonel Sanders and Mahatma don’t get along,

So we’ve placed Peter Parker and B.F. Skinner

In between them on the seating chart.

Spins a web gets a cookie.

Spins a yarn gets a shock.

Weird game.

Pigeon always wins.

Now, Amelia can fly figure 8s around the fan blades

Without Custer shooting her down.

Henry McCarty stole his gun

& spit in his grits earlier.

The Indians danced victoriously

On the bar.

History….and/or Herstory don’t match.

I need to learn more about what happens tomorrow

So my friends won’t forget who I am

When the truth is revealed.

Escobar says, “knowledge is powder!”

Damn Jim!

Nobody falls asleep in their soup anymore.

The voices slide from my head to my hide,

And the doctors are sending me homeward.

Thank you Confucius!

Your cookied wisdom has saved me again!

hahahaahhaahhaahahahaha, as the sonic booms go off over head... like I always say, life isn't funny, it's ridiculous. ah, but truth, verily there's the resemblance. the musician saying "way too hip for the room" comes to mind. But then I don't care anymore either. lol

Goodness! This is as surreal as it gets! I read you and smile hon..you have a talent of turning the piece around to leave the reader completely obliterated...now thats what I call art! lol

this was a really interesting read. i really liked the style, i don't think i've ever seen a poem in this format. The story kept changing. For a girl with a short attention span and ADHD like a mother... It kept me interested without interruptions. I am looking forward to reading more of your work.

This verse suggests the author's note greatly. And yet this trip is induced by your verbal LSD. In other words, a perfection on par with 6 and 28.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm guilty of over-interpretation, but this has the feel of an acid trip...all making sense while you're in it, and then when you're done and sober again, you wonder "how was that possible?"
