Explosions!A Poem by Nobody.Explosions! deep black universe pocked with colored lights homeless child shivering on a black ice bed king of a swine belching up martyr blood laughter from a corpse tears from an asteroid the hoarse whispers of intergalactic ghosts Explosions! pink and yellow blooms from a near-dead stalk orgasmic moans as metal punctures skin shotgun blasts from a frosted brown forest God shows his war teeth Satan smiles from the closet angels and demons pop like bubbles over my tired head Explosions! but, where am I in the aftermath? a child searching for his mother’s eyes in a sea of zombie glares? the zombie general picking the lost child from yellowy razor incisors? an ashy blood smear on sand-sugared asphalt? or maybe I am the remnants of the fuse? the dented detonator? Explosions! I’d love to believe what happens next won’t matter I’d love to believe anything but, the walls are rubble, and the sky is aflame s****y time to look into a religious conversion when the steeple is upside down in my lawn like a wayward SCUD missile that forgot to boom life is a series of Explosions! the brail blast pattern has been branded into the meat of my heart like gospel caked in gunpowder why does gospel always seem to be caked in gunpowder?
