it'll be better

it'll be better

A Poem by Nobody.

sickly question marks swim

in a stagnant puddle

of cerebrospinal fluid

answers have died

brain food chain

that held me in

suspended poise

collapsing

falling homeward,

sinking sleepward

tomorrow,

we’ll find the cure for yesterday,

but,

by then,

the virus will have mutated

into something less mortal

job security;

armorless humanity;

a reason to inhale

before the worker soul

abandons the hive

it’ll be better

if the future knows

what killed the past

it'll be better

I swear

If only we learned from past mistakes, we are capable of mutating into a better breed of humans. I hope that this is so, but I do not if it will come to fruition unless more heed the call.
