you devour meA Poem by Nobody.turbulent midnight
moments rock my
mind and roll my guts: water dances
wildly inward & outward, vessel buckles, knees turn gelatinous, totem head
loses its stoic face, mortality
screams violence, and I wobble
a pasty ellipse, begging for a
Dramamine kiss. relentless
ripples of stale warm
discomfort writhe
through flesh, drive
through the more tender material
that constitutes soul. suddenly, just
before the endless fall, you devour
me with
random worlds whose
substance lies within
your skewed words. you engulf
me with naked
thoughts; ghostly bodies
colored and defined by sewn
together tattoos and scars. you swallow
me with undead
poets; armies of offbeat
zombie voices pouring iambically
through your porcelain teeth, celestial
language like schools of
vampire salmon swimming upstream. you devour
me, and my
madness falls, exhausted,
beneath the pink
folds of your busy
tongue. mighty
tide shrinks into a crystal
sheet of peace, and the course
becomes a pristine line
before my tear-wet eyes. you devour
me, and I
become whole. we laugh
with drunken stars as
the rabid clouds subside. we sip at
the silver moonlight with
playful flying fish whizzing past our
ears. you are inkblot
of salvation in a
universe of turmoil. you devour
me, and I can
overcome hell’s armies and heaven's
lightning archers from within
the impenetrable armor of your silken embrace.
you devour me. © 2011 Nobody.Author's Note
