plastic lilacs and/or I

plastic lilacs and/or I

A Poem by Nobody.

plastic lilacs and/or I

deformed plastic lilacs melt in marbled sunlight

and/or on sunlit marble.

watch the wilted windowsill tragedy refold.

I put them there to brighten the room,

now they look like an abstract Polaroid

                                 of my dilapidated happiness.

wish I could comprehend God’s little jokes.

this awkward punch line has given my whorish world view herpes.

(it is bound to occur eventually, when one tries to believe in

everything)

I tremble

in the kaleidoscopic darkness

of deflated days and/or the related haze.

seems I’m

melting a bit faster than the damned lilacs.

so the plan succeeded.

no doubt the room will be brighter

without the plastic lilacs and/or I.

Like e.e. cummings almost, but far better.

This reminds me of being fake and broken...only the real seem to
be life saving..
