Black Dog WhimpersA Poem by Nobody.Black Dog
Whimpers Black dog
whimpers pure pain
from the
scum-caked space between
2 metal trashcans. The name
is worn off of
his scratchy metal tags. His eyes dull as a memory of
himself in the arms of a child. Now lost. Happiness. Beyond
misty delusion and starving
regret. Dematerializing: a hollow world. A whispered
verse of a
drawn out requiem. For the
hopes that fell
on dead asphalt. Unbloomed
glories. And a final
mute tear to scream
silent pleas at the
deaf souls of
passersby. Forever.
People only love you when you're new and pretty.
Eventually, everything and everyone is trash left on a lonesome curb. © 2011 Nobody.Reviews
