kneejerk bezerker (a season of destruction)

kneejerk bezerker (a season of destruction)

A Poem by Nobody.

perch of my head has changed guards by life’s night.

sweet light has fallen, street fight is begun.

soft dove of peace has grown talons and teeth;

he watches his prey playing down in my heart.

liquid death strikes hard, without timid pause,

just claws and fangs tearing laughter and flesh.

the rest is a flurry of frigid explosion that turns

Shangri La into Hell sheathed in ice.

smile sacrifice. your purpose is revealed.

show me the softness of a traitorous neck.

sexy infection neutralized in one jolt.

axe-edged bolt of lightning rolls your false grin

           downhill.

neon blood stains my valleys from emerald to ruby,

and the stare that saw through me has dulled to glass balls.

let Heaven fall like fiery leaves, let Hades rise up

and engulf me in flames until breath becomes ash becomes nothing.

by the names of ten gods, I’ve cursed your embrace,

by the hands of ten demons, I’ve bid you dragged deep.

smile sacrifice. your purpose is revealed.

steel heart, now molten, cast into the seas

to cool to a chunk of oxidized impotence,

held in a prison walled by watery pain.

my strain rolls away like waves from the shore,

I’m restored, rebalanced, remade.

now, blackened feathers release sickly ink,

and purity washes away every sin,

the claws have retracted, the canines resized;

re-polarized to blue eyes and honey song.

this restrung heart will play a new song

that sweeps away rot with the freshness of Spring.

sunshine swings through the sky, and holds the heartbeat,

that repeats and repeats a smooth chorus of change.

Like a scene from a Norse saga, the one about the end of all things.

I love the image of the peace dove with fangs! Such a smooth change between the darkness ripping the throat out before descending down into the soft spring.
