morning laughterA Poem by Nobody.alarm clock, eyelids, legs, slipper-slide, cold water, hot coffee, and porch * probably forgot something, o well, fire, cigarette, smoke * a dog barks and scares the last night star away * the sun peeps over pine trees like a mischievous child * thought I heard myself breathing, but it was Earth whispering love into my ear * clouds bend down to kiss the dewy green good morning * a happy snake can be heard swimming in the dead leaves * time can be heard humming like a quiet engine's purr * birds playing in the water make me laugh aloud * I am most thankful that, at any time of day, someone somewhere is laughing * and that thought proves that I’m back from the dead again * off to work my way back to death © 2011 Nobody.Featured Review
