verdict (7/5/2011)

verdict (7/5/2011)

A Poem by Nobody.

every shadow in the room has crept into my belly to die

and rot

forever.

guilt giggles in the sunshine of freedom,

a demon soars on eagle's wings,

filth has been declared pure.

an innocent child lies in the gutter;

tortured and murdered for the sins

of the void that birthed her.

Heaven has been baptized in hellfire;

her flesh charred to bones.

the morality of the world

is rotting in the trunk of an automobile.

We are broken.

this self-inflicted wound

will never heal.

justice is only as effective as those perpetrating it
our morality is capricious and governed by appetites
what a hideous loathsome beast we allow ourselves to become
our sin is nigh unforgivable

thought provoking statement RG
and all to hard a truth

I've got to add to my last review. I feel what you're expressing here. The events of this makes me fear for the world. What ideas will people get from the outcome. Where is the justice so many have fought for. This is the beginning of a new end. This write is chilling, and I think it expresses what we're all feeling.

It was most definitely a sad day with no justice for this poor child.. Who chloroforms their daughter so they can go out and not worry about her waking up?
To much sickness surrounds this child and her life and death.. It's my hope that the universe has a massive plan and who ever did this to her will get what they deserve..xx

Welcome to the hell called Earth, because justice really doesn't exist.

Absolutely! Well said. If her mom is "innocent" then who is guilty. This poor child didn't commit suicide, she didn't inflict those wounds on herself, but someone did. There might not be the traditional justice but my husband made a good point yesterday about it: The courts may have let her out but the public has seen everything they need to. She'll be forever suspected of killing her child, and she'll wear that shame like a scarlet letter for the rest of her life. She might have had an easier time in jail so perhaps this is a worse punishment for her.

However, that being said, she would have to have a conscious in order for the public's views of her to matter. That, I believe, she does not have. Nothing is left to deter others from committing the same heinous acts...poor children. :(

the justice in the court systems in the US is a joke that gets tied up in money and politics and sensationalism~ your poem highlights one of the most heartbreaking aspects of human beings~
and
there is no justice~ we make our own justice~ live or die~

I heard about this case. You hit straight to the heart of the situation and verdict reached here.

This is a SAD story, and so the ghost of this little girl shall
never rest. Justice is certainly a lie, and so the guilty will walk
free. It makes me wonder though, this young woman, and
society will condemn her, and so she will never have a normal
life, and someone may even take her out!

This is so sad, Caylee doesn't get the justice she deserves. This isn't fair to this poor little girls. People who don't stand up and look for their children will pay for it later and they will have to deal with that for the rest of their lives.

I'm not familiar with the case, but your revolt at the verdict is palpable.
People who fail to protect children, be they mothers, lawyers, jurors, all, should be relegated to the deepest pits of hell.
