hidden seekers

hidden seekers

A Poem by Nobody.

hidden seekers

sickly cats congregate
in an old car graveyard.

their feral hymns are laced

with tetanus and worms.

she tiredly smiles at me across
the dented hood of a Chevy’s

ghost

while we converse
in three word bursts

about death and beyond.

each sentence is punctuated

by the screams and whines

of passing traffic.

I gently tell her

that this purgatory

is an exact replica

of my war-torn heart.

if we keep sifting through

the wreckage,

we’ll eventually find

what’s left of my soul.

it’s the only compass

that’ll work

on this side of the border.

A scene and dialogue within this one; between the guy and girl. Great end lines.

Sounds like a love story between two meth addicts.

Nice work.

what a great scene
you totally immersed me in the ambiance of this piece

"converse in three round bursts"
when conversing in full auto, words get wasted

great stuff by gum!

I like how you use your compass - beyond the magnetic lines

I don't know if it's the Winter cold that just gave me a chill or these words...

while we converse
in three word bursts
about death and beyond.

each sentence is punctuated
by the screams and whines
of passing traffic
