trim away the devils

trim away the devils

A Poem by Nobody.

missionary smokescreen,

bombs in hollow crosses,

smiles with teeth

that cut like torches,

boxcars filled with confused corpses

carry me to the riverside,

dip

      me

            in

               that

                       holy

                             bloody

   flame

                                      in

                                the

                       name

           civilized

progress

slaughterhouse chapels,

cultures on cutting boards,

trim away the devils,

let the fat ghost sing,

confess to the man

who raped your daughters,

dip

    me

          in

             that

                   holy

                       bloody

                                flame

                             in

                         the

                  same

             old

                dramatized

                              process

dress evolves from skins

to blue jean cargoes,

dusty trails to asphalt roads,

knees hit the altar

like a broken stallion

settles under saddle

with a final hot huff

in enough time

                    we’ll all be the same,

           robotic race of one accord,

                     plastic smiles on sunburned faces

            begging for the mercy

                     of an unnamed star

                     dip

                           me

                                   in

                                        that

            holy

                   bloody

                              flame

                             in

                        the

           name

                  of

        whatever I'm told.

If I am interpreting this correct, don't let any one from the catholic church read it. I personally think it is phenomenal and sends quite a message. I realize you are not mentioning anyone religion but that is truly the nerve you are hitting. Serial Kisser..Bravo Bravo a standing ovation!!!!!

The rapture should have taken you you shiteating fiend!
But...you did in fact nail the entire race, pushed by gods and p*****s, flattened by fear and moved by trends that we can see but dont quite understand.

I love the way you strip is bare with the blunt attitude and open claws. Bearing it in all it's sickening glory. The delightful manner by which they strive to push people to mindless shells maleable to their whims and wishes.

I've read this several times without commenting, mainly because the whole thing leaves me quite speechless. I love the format - the descending refrain reminds me of the gospel songs of the South. The thoughts in the stanzas chill me to the bone.

To me this reads believe in what you want. There
are a lot of good visual lines in this which speaks
with a firm voice and firm hand.

Wow. This is off-the-charts awesome. It is a very interesting piece, it burns the souls like a microwave does to a burrito after 5 minutes.
