Factory Flow

Factory Flow

A Poem by Nobody.

We are a knot of moist biomechanical sensation

Tied in the shadowy rhythm of a factory closet.

Eyes burn like a raging coal fire,

Mouths roll like freight trains over hills and flats,

Bodies radiate heat like nuclear cores on the edge

Of explosion. Orange glow engulfs the moment.

Cold black iron on electrical flesh;

Silent strokes beneath the pounds of pistons

Pumping, and black hair flowing like smoke

That pours from the metal fingers reaching for a

Sweat-sheen torso that twists in moonlit dance.

Short steamy hot breaths in sudden bursts,

And whistles scream with muscles aflame.

The clap, the grind, the growl of machinery and life.

Supple skin, hard jutting steel, movement, hunger;

All senses devour and assault relentlessly.

The brutal music of connection and progression tangle

In spread-eagle harmony as steam rises and sparks fall.

Your purr against my neck; your hammer shapes the blade

With such pinpoint precision that it slices through scruples,

And leaves us nude and spent; molten drops fall into the cooling pool.

My world has become a sexy alloy whisper caught

In the back of your smokestack throat.

When I started reading this one, it was too mechanical for me to 'feel it' - I thought great comparison but not working for me... then I got to stanza 3 and suddenly the mix felt absolutely right: the steamy breath, the clap and grind mixed in with the supple skin. I was caught up through to spread-eagled harmony and the end was a glorious sigh of the post-coital aftermath - a sexy whisper escapes from the smokestack throat...

Yeah, it's some good.

This mix of images and way they come together against the passion, lust and contentment is fantastic. The contrast and meanings are brilliant.

This reminded me of the cover of that Queen album, the robot with the doe eyes not knowing what he is doing to the poor sap in his hand. Theis was clean and industrial on the outside, and electrical and coal fired on the inside. Great juxtaposition of feelings and textures. I loved this my man.
