Exhale

Exhale

A Poem by Nobody.

Exhale.

On my tongue,

sandy weakness dissolves.

A taste of relief,

like a merciful bullet

to the back of the head

of a rabid animal.

Black herd roams

across the glass ceiling

of my perception.

Night is the only sanctuary

for a mind filled with shadows.

Out of precaution,

before I submit to the sweet

inky tides of oblivion,

I confess any undefined sin

that I may have committed

in the absence of absence.

I’d be the first to admit

that, when the sickness peaks,

right and wrong are doppelganger

 twins locked in a Siamese

embrace.

My sorry face is tattooed on

the moon.

I have a penchant for getting in these moods, and the night is not kind to me, my mind running rampant over what I have to do, should have done, or regrets, things that slipped through my fingers even after announcing themselves. This poem exhausts my mind, and your set up is perfect as usual nailing the feelings right on the head. Great work.

This is elegant darkness. Meditating on death has always been my greatest muse vehicle; that, and a crazy woman. Great piece here.

make sure you fire up...
over just leaves a nasty scar and a lot of questions.
In that moment of panic right and wrong are the f*****g same and you know what we're left with? the same goddamn issues than before.
Is it better after we go into the light? I f*****g sure hope so or someone owes your friend some f*****g money

Absolutely agog at lines like "the absence of absence", and "right and wrong, as Doppelganger twins, locked in a Siamese embrace".
Does this address the moment just as sleep is achieved, when stress and facade are finally, if temporarily, allowed to fade, or the similar but final moment when death obviates all other responsibilities?

there is a quietness in this piece , the silence that exists after the echoes of that gunshot , the pause in the herd , the nothingness before the next breath ...
