A Poem by Nobody.

fact

I

what?

 no.

didn’t even know they still made these awkward things.

II

mercury halo

lead in the teeth

eyes removed and rolled

down the mountain of pale expressionless minds

golden-rimmed trash-pickers  gathered to decide what I am

just an honest cigarette cherry light

against boundless ebon ignorance

no concrete definition required

more decorative swords seem less threatening against my throat

holster the pea-brained pistol and speak honest bullets

eyes roll back unscathed

teeth in the lead

mercury halo

III

quick!

aim me at something and

fire!

how do you get so much up!! firing them out! "mercury halo" - brilliant! a play on the metals it seems - lead, mercury, golden - all the things facts can be!! - heavy, burdened, free or gold - too many are the formers!

Yes, I also love these poems in parts. Great open dialogue effect - makes it all the more authentic.

AUTHENTIC - I tend to use that word a lot when reviewing your work, but it's the one that describes your narrative voice the best for me.

I love the origional layout and style of this poem. I especially like the lines "more decorative swords seem less threatening against my throat" and "quick! aim me at something and fire!" I also love the way you picture truth as a bullet. Nice work
