resilience

resilience

A Poem by Nobody.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

the weatherman proclaimed
the sky had caught fire
we all ran to the seaside

to watch the b*****d burn

we held hands and sang songs

of Icarus and the Hindenburg

and gathered dreams in mason jars

to build it back again

maybe this time

we’ll get it right

This reminds me how we all, inhabitants of Earth, stand around every day and watch the destruction of the planet we call home. Stark. Definitive.

I just love the imagery in this, the idea of a sky on fire......and watching it, to begin a new......and of course this is our eventual fate........brilliant writing.
