the rage in the Cajun

angry swamp poetry

in a thick brackish soul

slither nasty with the mudfish

beneath albino gator skin

with a ringworm curl

 

crustacean bottom-scrubber

peeks naughty through the shock-shell

and licks trickle-down sunlight

from a deep black water mind

 

keep me sunken in the swamp

of your internal badlands

feed me wastewater

and bloated dead trash

 

in a rippled brown reflection

stare into your doppelganger

waiting for the moment when

the devil gets to play

 

you can’t kill me

I’m the killer part of you

i truly love this. it captures the seedy bayou encrusted gumbo..
your imagery is on point and just delicious.
my only thought was:

I’m the killer part of you

somehow it feels.. awkward. like maybe replace "part of you" with "already inside you"?
course it's all just a matter of preference, but it was the only part that i stumbled on a little. the concept itself is awesomely cool, but it just felt a little clumsy?
