I know the darkness of this existence can seep inside like necrotic venom,
but if all you see in this world is darkness, then you’re blind. You have put out your spiritual eyes, and turned away from numberless miracles to save your own warped sense of normalcy. You have taught yourself to smother angels and choke out laughter because misery is your assumed state of comfort, and your demons are your only constant companions.
A rattlesnake prefers a shadowy hole as a dove prefers a sunlit heaven. Neither believes they are cursed or blessed to be what they are. They just know they are alive.
But, the human being is a complex creature:
We can fool ourselves into believing pain is security and love is toxicity. We can wrap ourselves in frigid disease like it’s a warm blanket, and shun the sunlight because it’s too cold. We can convince ourselves, and all of those around us, that our wildest madness is the product of genius intellect, and that our simplest comprehension is the product of slack-eyed gullibility.
To be reborn, one must forget what they think they know, and receive what they have taught themselves to hate.
Some eternities, redemption takes a river of immortal blood.
Some days, it only takes a trickle of childlike laughter.
The toughest part of choosing to see the truth is simply wiping the theoretical muck from your infant eyes.
You make valid strong points. SOmetimes we make the choice of being miserable because it is familiar to us. We become so accustom to being sad and unhappy it takes over but there is hope and we truly can step outside of the cave and enjoy the daylight. We simply have to take that first step. I love the visual in this piece. They are strong and mind catching.
Wow.. the line that got me is.... "The toughest part of choosing to see the truth is simply wiping the theoretical muck from your infant eyes."
Excellent write..xo
Love this piece. You have driven the arguement hard and deep. Liked the snake and dove metaphors unfortunatly their instints remain while ours have become a slave to the inventions we have created. We have traded our instincts for inventions.

Ah, yes, indeed good sir :)
What we fail to see is the childlike ribbons blinding us...
No more can we blame others for our downfall huh?

Amazing. this knocked me off my feet. The way it is all simply stated the dove the snake it all leapt off the page just to hit me in the head. you make amazing points all along the way only to end with the perfect closing line. makes me feel as if i have been blind for some time. I'm gonna go think for a while. Thanks man. For this amazing piece for inspiring thought and for putting work into this.
