in this scary dream,

in this scary dream,

A Poem by Nobody.

in this scary dream,

there’s this faceless monster

chasing me through a dark song

I used to know

a love song

you once sang to me

until I cried

a you that used to sing

a me that used to cry

who needs nightmares

with memories like these?

who needs faceless monsters

with people like us?

I stop running

in the dream

but, never

in reality

nowadays,

for me,

imaginary demons

are less frightening

than real life

angels

It fascinates me how you can pack so much into so little. Each stanza seemes to overflow hinting at so much more than is said. It's so sad when the waking world is worse than the dream.

A deceptively simple looking multi layered write. Excellent.
