unasked questions

unasked questions

A Poem by Nobody.
"

when shooting lastnight's stars become today's shooting pains

"

what was the taste of that feeling

when

we were interlocked

when we used to fit

like the fingers

of clasping hands

when

our lips melded together

like hot metal

and our souls became

overlapping clouds

backlit by a ripe red sunrise?

when did I become this

frigid stone?

when did you drop me

into this frozen lake?

why would we rather

freeze to death alone

than to compromise

in that warm

welcoming place?

when did this new pain

become a treasure

worth dying for?

A remarkable love song. I could hear the music.
