chewing the center

A Poem by Nobody.

at the center of every mighty light, is a tiny kernel of darkness,

and, we, being the most curious of creatures,

will stare into the light until we go blind;

until our eyes explode into blooded flame,

just to see that ugly little speck,

smell that rotten infection,

taste that sour pit,

touch that sub-

lime

nightmare

for

       one

                orgasmic

                             moment

     before

                               we

                                      expire.

           dissolve.

                        turn into a quiet black speck

            on this canvas of screaming light;          

hoping that, someday, some fair scavenger          

will sniff us out and nibble at our rancid

            memory;

resurrect our restless bones

for a scared, eternal moment.
