Nice Dream

Nice Dream

A Poem by Scarlet Opal

I had a nice dream

where dark clouds swirled into lillies

and my lover never smiled.

We sat above pockets of clear water

which sprang eternally dry.

In the distance people cried in static

with their colors dripping madly.

So he held me

never intending anything

but desperate love.

I should have felt whole

as shadows spiraled to flood

a million lightyears ahead.

I finally lost all control

so he held me.

Nice dream.

Scarlet Opal
Inspired by Radiohead's "Nice Dream" -- I couldn't shake it out of my head as I slept, so I wrote down what I saw.
