Fleeting.

Fleeting.

A Poem by Scarlet Opal

I realize what it takes to grow up inside.

Reality hits me like glass broken in my palms.
My childhood was always breakable.

How my hope bathes under dying light...
it's fleeting
like the waves of sand falling further into the sea...
pushing, pulling, rolling itself over.

Sometimes I drown
if I try to remember me.

That last line is so strong and powerful, I was swept off my feet and had to re-read the entire poem. It may be one of the strongest single lines I've read on here. Marvelous job.
