In between worlds

In between worlds

A Poem by September Mallory
"

Fantasy poem, kind of. I guess.

"
It was in that magical place
Between dusk and dawn
That she found the mirror.
Mirrors in the woods aren't normal.
But still, she was
captivated
Moving towards it.
Bathed in moonlight, ornate
Carvings ring a sparkling looking glass.
Her reflection
seemed the same at first.
But there were slight differences-her hair more windblown,
Her cheeks rosier,
and her eyes less full of sadness.
But those are only the
differences with her.
Behind her, in this
fantastical
looking-place,
were marvelous things.
Faries, trolls, dragons. Knights
On white horses
And princesses in sparkling tiaras.
Of course, this
magical looking-glass had to show her
one
true
dream. Right?
Ashamed, she turns away
from her desires
to see
A fairy, surrounded by her mystical friends
Saying,
Welcome home.
