Young Love

Young Love

A Poem by Sephora VanOrden
"

Personal. Yeah, just read it.

"

We jumped into us,

unbound and free

without a care.

But as the months rolled by,

your love shriveled up

and you left me out to dry.

So here I sit, writing songs,

pleading for affection.

But you moved on,

to higher dreams, to live your life,

as you watch me beg and cry.

So alone I'll lay, fading fast,

my blood rushing from my lips.

It's better this, to die in pain,

than wishing I was with you,

again. . .

Great work. I can understand its meaning and relate. That's something that many poets seem to not do very well
