Winter and rainA Poem by Sam
Head to toes
Your body was soaked, And you stood Looking into the rain. Over your head hung Your black coat, And your body shook With immense pain. They only light that I found Was the fires you lit From the feelings you'd Shoved down your throat. But that you need help You'd never admit, You'd rather fall Then help to float. The flames reflect, All the words never said. All the moments You swallowed your thoughts. Your hands hold your heart That was torn to shreds From the feelings You'd kept bottled up. You scream at the sky Your eyes tearing up, You keep asking "why?" I called out your name To tell you I'm here, But, it was lost in the storm Of your winter and rain. © 2017 SamAuthor's Note
