Light

Light

A Poem by Senu Jayasinghe
"

Some people come into your life disguised as a light when they are only there to rob you of yours. And back to the nature you go in search of yourself.

"
Rivers they don't just flow
they glow
As if lightning is woven through every drop

Trees, they sway
they sing
Like every breath is a note

Dew drops, they shine
like diamonds
Like they have a light of their own

Flowers they glow
Like the sun
Like nothing can ever dim their brilliance

I followed
mistaking a moth to a firefly
Got robbed of all my light
Yet again
So here I am
Gathering light
So that I can glow
So that I can shine...
