Demons

Demons

A Poem by Senu Jayasinghe
"

Sometimes you have to let people go and let them fight their own battles. But it can be too late for you to get out unscathed.

"
You were at war with your demons
I was at war right along side
The demons that were running on the fumes of your pain
Asking for blood
Times gone by but never forgotten
Still living,
breathing,
waiting...
You mistook me for one
Once, twice,
daggers right through my heart
But I couldn't leave you behind
To battle this out on your own
In a loosing battle,
Until you pushed me off
Thinking you were sending me back home
But here I am, in this void
Lost
No way back home
I have no home...

A psychological stuff. We all are trapping demons for centuries. But demons continues to sing and dance. Beautifully written
