Perception

I found an answer to a question someone asked me sometime ago. "Why are you still single?"
Well, at the time I thought that it is my fault that I am single; "it's not you it's me"!..
But now I've found this scary thing about myself. I don't believe in true love!
For me relationships are a scam, a fraud where two people condition their own minds to crave each other, to see beauty in all the ugly and dark depths of each other's souls.
But they say perception is everything, so maybe I'll get to see another angle someday...

I hope you do get to see the flip-side. sometimes two souls will bound making both parties better stronger and kinder. I think people look for a partner to make them happy or better. You have to bring those qualities with you. Then, what you get is more of what you brought.

I think, that itself is the point. To truly love is to love a person not despite, but valuing and accepting the imperfections, the ugly dark depths of each other's souls and never letting go.

times of drought and loneliness can lead thoughts to some very dark places ... it's easy to see the world with broken relationships everywhere, but ... for me ... to fall in love recklessly and without abandon .. or to discover it slowly over time is worth any pain suffered ... i read from the Bible what love is and i think i never had read better ..1 Corinthians 13:4–8a (ESV) "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth." ... engaging in this kind of selflessness covers a lot of disappointments and hurt ... in my opinion anyway :) love the straight forward honesty in your prose
