Dandelion

Dandelion

A Poem by Jake Brunton

Little dandy, so refreshing
Little dandy, so enthralling
Oh, how I want to protect you~
oh how I want to devour you

Youthful and breezy I blossom
in the bright summer sun
I dance in sync with the wind
But I'd much rather like to run
Oh my, how the other dandys are gorgeous;
Why can't I look like you?

Dandelions are so scrumptious
"Don't be afraid of the gardener"
You, in particular, catch my eye
Out of the entire meadow
succulent butterfly

I noticed the fall come fast
And my sisters began to wither
I noticed the gardener watching
Asking me to come hither
i'm scared of the gesture
please, fall, take me

Dandy so precious; gentle in my hands
You are so beautiful and vibrant
No one seems to understand;
Understand how, I love you so much
Understand why, I'd love you oh why
Crushing myself into you, we realize:
all dandelions die.
