-the bell tree has never looked so beautiful-

-the bell tree has never looked so beautiful-

A Poem by Jake Brunton

I’ve come to the romantic conclusion
that romance is dead
There is no prudence or ideal
for what is said.

I detest the people I’ve trusted with lies
and the mountain of folly cries
As I decide to rest away the pain
and shake in the endless night.

People disgust me
they’re liars on the highest degree
I am looked upon with the desire
to mature into equality
and yet I can’t comprehend
why?

I’ve concluded there is no love to be saved
in this disgusting world
My change of plans now
is to save the quality
of whatever truth remains.

On this snowy day this February;
I walk upon the sleek roads of white.
Gazing up at the snow white sky
I spot the child’s kite
It’s a sight that tugs my heart
to be him again in the sky.

Oh, how have I never noticed
this amazing credential.
The bell tree has never looked so beautiful.

I really enjoy the dichotomy, the tone change appeals to me! I would encourage you to review the 3rd stanza. The wording feels a bit out of place with the ret of the piece.
