Weeping Willow

Her heart pure as white snow.
Consumed by his soul of inferno.

Words spoken like a piercing arrow.
A shell of her former self broken and hollow.

Love lost long ago.
Bright light slowly diminishing beneath the dark shadow.

Shedding tears of tomorrow.
As she mourns like a weeping willow.

A lovely metaphor....yes the tree weeps and so does a person whose love is lost...a very somber mood...
of grief....with memories of a soul "consumed by his soul of inferno" which doe not bode well.....and so one weeps tears of sorrow....and will again tomorrow...

The leaves of a weeping willow tree are like letters.. they appear to dip emotions as if going through trauma or treat. Whenever possible, make sure to watch those weepers' branches move during a storm. Please. Senay, your poem says it all, beautiful but tragic.

Many thanks. There is said to be a myth about weeping willows: once they were but 'willows' until a storm thrust way through an entire area of them.. except for one. The gods took pity, allowed it to remain forever but, looking down into at its own sorrow. Have since little (our uncle and aunt had a weeping willow) wondered if the weepers copied Humans' lowered heads or vice versa. Would be plant before human according to the Creation.

Yes, a weeping willow is heavily symbolic of grief, sorrow and mourning, even physically, it stands as an analogy to human grief, with its back bent over the subject; be it a weeping figure, a tomb, plinth or any other mourning subject.

YES, YES and yet another YES! Am a garden designer, so know quite a few of the myths associatied with Growth and not a while seems far-fetched or silly. As is said that plants of all kinds appeared before Man, am inclined to believe them more than. Certainly at times! With all your knowledge you could academically write about plants or/and their mythical/historical lives.

Wow, what a heartfelt poem, sadness dripping from your poem just like a weeping willow.
