Whispering Fate

Whispering Fate

A Poem by Şenay🥀

Sacrified everything İ had, yet it remained the same.
Ceased expecting anything, indifferent İ became.

Ceased expressing preferences, feeling it is pointless.
Silence born from exhaustion and hopelesness.

Unaware of what was evil.
Your tainted soul being deceitful.

Destroying everything alive, planting seeds of grief.
As I became someone İ barely recognize, a reflection of your needs.

Never ending feeling of emptiness.
Fate whispering to loneliness.

Dreams abandoned, laughter, flowers fade.
Remembering who I am, knowing I will never be the same.

Detachment turning into contempt.
Finally allowing me to recognize your true scent.

Very sad, and well expressed. Clearly, it portrays a woman who has given her all, to a relationship; only to be totally betrayed by her partner's evil and deceitful behaviour.

In this scenario, it captures that darkest state of despair; and the man's initial tantalising scent is eventually recognised as being a red herring. His real scent, is the one remembered at the very end.

Whilst the physical relationship end point, can be measured fairly clearly, this poem shows some of the lasting emotional scars; which a betrayed woman can be left with. Indeed, upon self-reflection; this poor woman struggles to see her true self. And, realises the extent to which that relationship; had revolved around her lover's needs...

This is an excellent, gradual description of a painful mess of a serious relationship. I'm sure you felt things would go much differently and it probably was good for a while. But colors tend to blend through and often bailing water doesn't prevent the sinking. How sad.
