Eva

Eva

A Poem by Adam
"

This is a poem dedicated to my grandmother. I sent this in to a contest, where it won Editor's Choice.

"

Eva, dear, you look so sad

What perplexes you so?

Is it the life you chose or

the one that you let go?

Eva, dear, please smile at me

I miss that sweetness true

But now that you are sad and lonely

You know I feel it too

I can't help but wonder, dear

What makes you so depressed

Could all those childhood nightmares

and visions be repressed?

Eva, oh sweet Eva, I ask you to say yes

For if you do not answer me

You leave me in a mess

Oh...how sweet!! I love this piece...this pleading of Eva! And very good observations on the elderly... they say as we grow older we come to regret the things we DIDN'T do! Excellent write!! And congrats on the publication & Editor's choice!! woohoo!!
