Late morning ScaresA Poem by RivaxorusYou sit awake in your room Staring at the ceiling waiting for sleep to come and when it doesn't what do you do It's now two in the morning And the silence is dragging on You suddenly start thinking about how horrible life is Somewhere in the world a child is crying Their parents are dead and you're here with a comfortable life all you can think about is others Selfish, you're like a monster but you aren't really like that are you? You don't want to be You just want reality to slip away for everything to become numb nothing can be surreal anymore because you want to hide in your fantasy world But when you wake up the next morning to start the cycle again you won't remember last night until you repeat it again
