A Poem by Bryan Sefton
"

Looking up the meaning of the word civilisation gave me the subject of this poem.

"
From the blasting of the sun
To the harvest of the seas
From the innocence of birth
To the tyrant on his knees
From the bounty of the Earth
To the fusion in a flower
From the endlessness of time
To the newness of the hour
From the threat within the fist
To the friendly outstretched hand
From the turning universe
To the mountain turned to sand
From the meditating guru
To the roar of football crowds
From the body clad in fashion
To cadaver in its shroud
From the isolated I
To the brotherhood of WE
From the tree within the acorn
To the acorn on the tree
From the Mother of a daughter
Who is the Mother of a son
Who is the Father of a family
Civilisation.

Good morning Bryan. I very much enjoyed your trail of thoughts here. A lovely poem which flows well and carries the reader on the journey. Beautifully penned my friend. Have a great Wednesday.
