Hail to thee bright star!
I kneel in your presence I lie in your warmth I spread myself to your splendour I spread lotion to your might Don dark glasses to your brilliance Soak up all that you pour Tone to your benevolence Turn golden and bronzed Rise red, and purple Peel in your anger Scatter skin where I walk Beg mercy from pain Curse wife for lack of sympathy Scream at kids for touching me Beg God to show mercy Blame Him for having no limiter on the sun Inform the family we're going to Blackpool next year To rain-bathe. © 2022 Bryan Sefton |
