A Simple Faith.

A Simple Faith.

A Poem by Bryan Sefton

They point telescopes at the sky
And gaze into the celestial face
And see with their all seeing eye
Cosmic wastes and wasted space
Super Nova burn about
Black holes turning inside out
Always there's a nagging doubt
That God is playing games

They point microscopes at the core
And go into and gaze upon
Sights hitherto unseen before
And minds go giddy, minds grow numb
For here's the same infinity
The telescope had let them see
Within a mouldy piece of brie
And the questions still remain

They search for this, they search for that
The search for answers everywhere
They want to know that it's a fact
That heaven waits and God is there
In their doubting they live and die
And at their end they say a prayer
Then all the family sob and sigh
And pray that God is near

But deep in the Australian bush
Beneath the nights star spangled sky
Just contemplating all alone
Within his minds all seeing eye
Sits a lone Aborigine
With his hand resting on his knee
Knowing with a certainty

Love that final stanza and the imagery it gives me Bryan of that aborigine, so in touch with the universe. Very nicely penned my friend. Have a lovely Sunday.
