The Reappearing Man

The Reappearing Man

A Poem by Bryan Sefton
"

My philosophy.

"
I do not expect to live forever
I would not take it if offered
I would not care to live pain free
While others suffered
I have my beliefs that carry me
Through life as in every day
We each have enough of good and bad
Let the cards fall as they may
I did not expect to keep my hair
So I was not too surprised
But love of reading made me thank
God for the sight of both my eyes
My schoolwork wasn't special
Report saying 'concentrate'
Facts, figures, maths and graphs
Found it hard to penetrate
But that's all by the way
Other lessons took their place
A few left me feeling wanting
Others, a state of grace
One question seemed to have me
puzzling at an answer
But then I sat and did the test
And became a Mensa member
It's amazing how your mind can change
Your opinion of yourself
From weak to super hero
From frail to boundless health
From a future full of wanting
to one of possibilities
A self created warrior
From a weakling on his knees
Ignore what other people think
What you think matters more
Their thoughts will fill you full of doubt
Yours open every door
Happiness is a state of mind
Not a state of bank account
Money does not create happiness
Whatever the amount
Money alters the minds state
You can do that anyway
Just adjust your mind and you can have
The most perfect happy day
Practice it and you can achieve
Happiness in any second
Perfect it, you can wave away
Misery when ever it beckons
The mind is full of magic
To use when ever you choose it
Just as with any muscle
It builds the more you use it
All the money in the world
Isn't worth a baby's smile
Thats one thing around the earth
That is certain to beguile
All of life is full of magic
And ends as it began
Life leaves the way it entered
Enter baby, exit man
A thought begat the magic
Life took the spell and ran
Then it will all begin again
I'm convinced that is the plan
You cannot experience in heaven
Everything is perfect bliss
To experience good and evil
You need a place like this
There are no extremes in heaven
Everything is perfection plus
God placed a jewel in the vast of space
And gave it to all of us
My love for family became my life
This cannot be emphasised more
I met my wife who had a heart
That was an ever open door
She let me in and there I live
Contented and serene
This fairy tale is all about
A pauper who wed a Queen
She is the love of my life
And every other life I'm certain
In every existence we meet again
And again begin our courting
Now I stand at the end of life
And I think of all I've seen
All the wonders of the universe
The reality that was the dream
So it's the end? No problem
I'll fade away and then
I'll return and we will meet
And so, it all begins again!

A feast of thought in a poem Bryan. I am liking your philosophy on life and how you turned yourself into a super hero. The pauper who met a Queen is surely a fairy tale. May your contentment and happiness endure in this life and the next.
