The Spider On The Ceiling.A Poem by Bryan SeftonWritten to alleviate my granddaughters fear of spiders.
The Spider on the ceiling sits
Views my granddaughters hysterical fits With a seeming bemused dismay As terrified she runs away Then concentrates upon the thread That cuts the corner above the bed While listening with a confused air To the screams that echo from the stair Thinking, I'm sure, 'there's reason were I Some suspended hippopotami Or hanging elephant Waiting with the firm intent Of dropping on her should ever she Stand in the spot that's under me Or if tiger-like or python-wise I could rip and tear or pulverized But I dangle, that is all I do! I'm sorry if that frightens you. © 2022 Bryan SeftonReviews
