The River.

The River.

A Poem by Bryan Sefton
"

The help that is always there.

"
He always smiles whatever the weather
He wears his smile where so ere he goes
And where he goes he gathers all together
He tells them 'love is as the river flows
The river gives and having given passes
To give to others, then give again
And whatever is taken is given gratis
Find it replenished by my Fathers rain
The river does not ask for thanks
It's enough that someone's lot is bettered
He makes his merry way betwixt his banks
His music in the rough is joy untethered
He smiles as he tells the waiting throng
'You, my children, move like the river
My arms are the banks guiding you along
You think you're lost but I am the Giver
And I will find you a place to stay
I am here to bring you all together
I am the answer to every prayer you pray
Your trials are the things that make you stronger
Look for me should you feel alone
You will find me standing at your shoulder
Stilling the winds that would chill to the bone
You lack for food? Come to me, I will feed you
Your water will be here when you wish to drink
You're troubled? I will always heed you
I will ease you back when you are on the brink
You are never alone, you just think you are
My voice is speaking to you in your ear
Here's a quite place that we can share
You needed me, so I brought you here
