To Putin's army.

To Putin's army.

A Poem by Bryan Sefton
"

Delusion. Destruction.

"
When the tanks come rolling in
Over the bodies of the dead
With the words of your leader
Set to music in your head
When your choices become one
'Do what you're told to do'
Shelve your right to think
The decision made for you
When his doctored words convince you
What you're doing rights the wrong
That to sacrifice your life
Will make your country strong
When your countries youth dwindles
In this battle of deceit
When lifes beauty doesn't matter
Crush the flowers at your feet

In Putin's war there no omissions. Anything standing, living, human, animal. even, as we have seen, landscape. There are no exceptions. Everything must go.

He is crushing many flowers...and all the beautiful plants of a country are smoldering from
the bombs...
this poem is quite powerful...the youth is dwindling...

It would be interesting to know how many Russian troops are conscripts. If this new offensive goes as badly as the first one did, those fellows might take what was once called "French leave."

Methinks they are too frightened to disobey the madman.

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't..

They are not paid to think, they are paid to follow orders. We can only hope that there are some thinkers who question the hell hole they find themselves in, when they are targeting civilians and invading another country. Maybe the mothers of the Russian dead will start to question whether it was all worth it. Hard hitting lines Bryan, thoughtfully composed.
