Time Marches OnA Poem by SeemsPoeticTime waits for no one.Time Marches On By: SeemsPoetic Time continues marching on Through the wars and wreckage Nothing in its way Through the years and decades While we sit back and decay Ignorance of everything Living day by day Some say they use time wisely While others' waste away Time continues marching on No matter what we plan to be Time will wait for no one This is clear to see Yet using powers of invisibility Is how it seems to feed Time is not a luxury But a curse on every being Long throughout the centuries All who’ve lived and breathed Time continues marching on Killing just to please Helping hands at its disposal Propaganda in the streets On the walls it heeds us And on our wrists it bleeds Wars on many fronts Slowly killing while we sleep Time continues marching on Facades in our dreams Merry so unmerrily Slowly down a stream Tick Tock Tick Tock Nothing's what it seems Rapid water barreling Waterfalls at rampant speeds Life flashing as it drowns you now Struggling to breath Time continues marching on Funded by forgotten hopes and dreams People marching to their graves Buried with them deep Dying without ever living No one there to grieve Richest of them all The graveyard seems to be Aspirations in the dirt Sprouting ugly weeds Untold stories captive in the caskets Bursting at the seams Time is still the culprit Wasted time left roaming free Time continues marching on As do you and me Time should not be feared When living willfully Though our time here’s very short We simply must believe There's still time left to explore To make new memories Live Laugh Love Inspire Find your destiny And create your own legacy Time continues marching on Coming down the road Ask yourself "Will it remember me?" As it comes and goes Time continues marching on But it does not march alone Behind it is a trail of history Legacies and gold © 2018 SeemsPoeticFeatured Review
