Man Of The House

Man Of The House

A Poem by Aziza
"

Not much of a poet . I just felt like writing this

"
I woke up that day
To go to a career job
The job that made him so proud
His teachings that were drummed into my head finally took hold

I was ready to leave
Walked into the living room
to say goodbye
I never knew for how long

He sat there cross-legged on the floor
Leaning perfectly upright on the couch
Hands folded in his lap
Head slumped downward in concentration

He was a man ascending
To a new destination
Leaving us all behind.
Leaving me to become

Man of the House

A person of steel emotions
A rock
A shoulder to cry on
A person who never breaks

The maintainer of others mental state
To make sure they move on
Planning for a brighter future for my family
Working hard and never faltering

The one that never openly cries
That catches people when they breakdown
And holds them
Comforts them

In secret I overflow
In corners unseen
Because I have to release my pain
My loss can never stop me from staying

Strong

All I wish for is a hug from Daddy again

Reminds me of when my dad left my family...good job. Really painted a picture, I could see you stepping into the father's big shoes
