In My Eternal Vision

In My Eternal Vision

A Poem by LaurenSamantha

My memory dances,

Flares to life,

Illuminates the dust -

And I see her there,

Alive and bright,

Looking past me as if I

were nothing more than a ghost

lurking in the corner of her eye,

Watching,

Waiting for her to take my hand

- Bring me across the blur

of ages

into her arms,

Dispel the disease of everlasting darkness,
Clenching my throat,

Suffocating my mind -

The confusion of senses

lacing over my skin,

Netting my thoughts

into webs that unravel

at her tender touch
and the fleeting smile

that haunts

my every hour -

And I cling tight

as if the last leaf of Autumn,

Unwilling to leave - to admit,

I am nothing but a shadow,

Lost to her

in the glinting sunlight

that intensifies her presence

- Softly, softly she wanders
along the treads of the soul

that languishes without her -

No silent prayer

will bridge the abyss

that has us so separate,

Though my lips will mutter

until they are sore from the words

of hope

that spill from my tongue,

For she is the ghost -

She fades and leaves

me nothing but the vision

of her splendour -

I am alone

until she rears her head once more

and I am lost to her eternal desire.

Hi. This is one of the poems I am most proud of and it is part of a set of three different point of view. I hope you enjoy it. Constructive criticism welcome.
