The Ocean's Call

The Ocean's Call

A Poem by Charlotte Black
"

A poem about a girl feeling the depression sink into her and her thought to the worst.

"
I'm sitting here on the ledge
My feet dangle above the fifty feet difference
The ocean is calling me as it barks against the rocks
"How many has it taken?" I ask myself
This ocean has heard stories, felt the pain of others
Oh the tales it could tell...
I wait for the call
I listen, but no one comes
I did not hope, for I knew no one cared
My last hope was never there

I feel that cool wind wisp through me and throw my head back
Feeling the soft breeze, the ocean calls
She says wonderful words
She says she can bring me to the light
I do as she whispers ever so lightly
And I jump
I fall, but I felt more alive then I ever have
No more lies can keep me down

I soak up every last moment by breathing it all in
As quickly as I lost hope, was as fast as falling
And then happened
All the life was gone and I hit the ocean
Waves upon waves crashed into my face
Feeling the rush was my greatest and last endeavor
