Faldas ----- Skirts

Faldas ----- Skirts

A Poem by VERONICA

Hermanos siameses,

de tela que es azul y

cómoda,

me quedan alrededor

de mis piernas.

Con sus costuras

innecesarias,

como la sonrisa forzada,

ellos alivian

la incomodidad

de mis "amigos".

Pero, de vez en cuando,

prefiero ponerme

las prendas de vestir

más sencillas;

que hacen ondas

cuando camino como una mujer

y con la libertad.

Las faldas

causan travesura;

son niñas,

con manchas en la ropa,

jugando en el cajón

de arena e incertidumbre.

Otros charlan

que estas chicas sucias

tienen fracasos

en vez de padres.

Como giro,

la falda ondea

en paralelo

con la tierra.

----- ----- ----- ----- -----

Siamese twins,

made of fabric that is blue &

comfortable,

hug me

around my legs.

With their unnecessary

seams,

like a forced smile,

they relieve

the discomfort

of my "friends".

But, every once in a while,

I prefer to put on

garments that are

more simple;

making waves

when I walk like a woman

and with liberty.

The skirts

cause mischief;

they're little girls

with stains on their clothes,

playing in the sandbox

of uncertainty.

Others gossip

that these dirty girls

have failures

instead of parents.

As I spin,

the skirt flutters

in parallel

with the Earth.
