A Forgiveness Ball For All

A Forgiveness Ball For All

A Poem by VERONICA

I lost my wallet,
2 weeks consecutively.
I ripped your overalls.
I lost a box containing
my best friend's cherished project.

I am not attentive.
Look at the bumps, bruises & scrapes.
I don't mean to make so much noise
& wake you up at night.

My heart winces everytime
my dog gets underfoot.

These might seem like
small mistakes, like
"Gosh just get over yourself.
It's fine."
But they embarrass me
because I keep making them.

So come to my ball,
it's a forgiveness party for all.
I'm glittering in a princess gown.
I'll share my follies &
hug myself whole,
scatter-brained.

But only if it helps you
forgive you
for all those men you
killed.
